West Ham secured their first win under David Moyes with a resilient 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Saturday.
An early goal from Marko Arnautovic and a strong defensive effort from the Hammersthroughout kept the Blues at bay.
Victory elevates West Ham to within touching distance of moving out of the relegation zone, while Chelsea could be 14 points behind league-leaders Manchester City by the end of the weekend.
Here, Sportsmail brings you a round-up of all the things you may have missed from theLondon Stadium.
Derby day in full effect
Saturday's lunchtime kick-off is the first of three huge derbies involving title contenders, alongside the Merseyside and Manchester derbies on Sunday. Naturally, such occasions demands high levels of passion from all involved, and it appears that spirit has been felt by animals as well as humans to.
Prior to kick-off, a small dog kitted out in a West Ham shirt dwindled outside the London Stadium, presumably wondering if he had been too dismissive of Moyes' appointment following a second successive strong showing against one of the league's best sides.

David Moyes breaks new unwanted ground
Back in 2014, the world was at David Moyes' feet as he was hand-picked by Sir Alex Ferguson as the heir to the legendary Scot's throne at Manchester United. Fast forward three years and the former Preston manager is now owner of a rather unwanted accolade.
The clash against Chelsea marks the 41st consecutive time in which Moyes has begun a matchday as manager of a side in the relegation zone, breaking John Gorman's record of 40 games as manager of a bottom-three side back in 1993-94.
The torrid run began back on August 27th 2016 as Sunderland drew at home with Southampton, and ever since, Moyes has managed just six wins and seven draws, with another against Chelsea in Saturday's derby. Win, draw or lose, West Ham were guaranteed to remain in the bottom three for at least another week thanks to their league-worst defensive record.

Chelsea's impressive winter form comes to an end
The result sees West Ham put a dent in Antonio Conte's impressive winter record in the Premier League. Chelsea were unbeaten under the Italian's guidance in the winter months, winning 14 of their 15 games played in November and December before defeat at the London Stadium.
Antonio Conte's side made light work of their uncongested fixture schedule last season, but the addition of Champions League football in 2017-18 has impacted their fortunes somewhat, with just two wins in their last five games.

Michy Batshuayi keeps warm
For all the modern technology and recovery mechanisms in place to help a player reach a peak performance level, sometimes, you can't beat a hot water bottle in the cold.
There's still no readily-available technology for players to keep warm while sitting on the sidelines on a cold winter weekend in London, so Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi simply stuck to what he know, clutching onto a hot water bottle to maintain a bearable temperature.

West Ham start the showboating early
Teams usually bring out the one-touch passes in close spaces and slick flicks that prompt the crowd to cheer 'ole' only when the game is won. At the London Stadium, relegation-threatened West Ham decided to bring the curtain call forward against the champions, embarking on a 20-pass sequence down the left channel to end the first half.
Beginning with Pedro Obiang and ending with Manuel Lanzini's failed cross, the Hammers passed around in tight triangles and brought out a few tricks, prompting strong cheers of 'ole' from the crowd. The tactic was effective in keeping the ball away from Chelsea, so whilst it bordered on showboating, it served its intended purpose.
Stuart Pearce loses his cool
Stuart Pearce isn't the first name that comes to mind when you think of a calm and collected figure in football. Far from it. And that fire was on display in the closing stages against Chelsea, with the assistant manager hoofing the ball a good few yards as he barked instructions to those on the pitch in the dying stages of the match.
